Previcox For Dogs Review
Previcox is an anti-inflammatory pain reliever that also reduces fever in dogs. This prescription medication is given to dogs that have just received surgery, have arthritis, or for other complications as prescribed by your vet. You shouldn’t give Previcox to your dog if it is allergic to aspirin or is taking other NSAID pain relievers.
Your vet can determine if your dog is allergic to aspirin with a simple test if you are unsure. As with any prescription medications you should make sure to keep them out of reach of children and animals as an accidental overdose is possible.
Previcox is given to your dog in a chewable tablet which makes it easier to get your dog to take its medicine. Dogs love the flavor and usually have no problems taking the tablets at all. You should keep a close eye on your dog when first starting the Previcox treatment as side effects have been reported in some breeds. Some side effects include vomiting, skin rash, lethargy, and bloody stool. You should watch for any kind of negative change in your pet’s health and consult your vet. Most breeds handle Previcox very well and you shouldn’t have any issues but you can talk to your vet about which breeds will handle it better to make sure it’s right for your dog.
As for the dosage, your vet will advise you as to how much you should give your pet. Typically, Previcox is given in a single dose daily and is calculated at 2.27mg per pound. It can be given to your dog with food or without it. However, keep plenty of water on hand for your dog. If you happen to miss a dose, give it to your dog as soon as you remember it. However, if you don’t remember until it is nearly time for the next scheduled dose, just forget about the missed on and administer the next regularly scheduled dose. Never give a double dose of Previcox.
Should you accidently give your dog too much of the Previcox, you must get emergency veterinary help immediately. The symptoms of an overdose of Previcox are nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, stomach pain, blurred vision, headache, slow breathing, little to no urine output and coma.

I have a female Samoyed, 10 years old, that has been given Previcox for over 6 months. She started taking it following surgery for a tumor. Now she doesn’t cry out from pain of osteroarthritis. Before Previcox, she suffered terribly.
It’s so easy to give her the pills. She just eats them right out of my hand. She’s getting ready to enjoy another winter and I am so grateful that the pain is no longer a problem for her. Previcox saved her life, literally. I can’t recommend this medication enough. If your dog is having arthritis issues, be sure to speak to your vet about Previcox.

Our Pit Bull Mix, Ali, has been taking Previcox for over 5 years. If we had not found out about it, we would have had to put him to sleep years ago. We got his dosage just right at 1 57mg tablet each day and he’s like a new dog. At one time, we tried to take him off of it but he was just in so much pain that he could barely move. Now, for 15 year old dog, he’s doing great.
From the looks of the other posts, it seems to be an excellent product for all dogs unless a dog is allergic to it or experiences bad side effects.

I have a Belgian Malinois that just turned 10 years old. When Tyler started showing some signs of hip and leg pain, our vet suggested we try Previcox. He has shown so much improvement since he’s been taking it. Before Previcox, his back leg would shake so bad that sometimes he couldn’t even stand. Now, he has no issues at all. He looks forward to his daily walks again with no pain.
Previcox is rather expensive but our vet said we should try getting it through an online pet pharmacy. That’s made it possible for us to get Tyler the Previcox he needs. We’re so happy to have found a medication that will help Tyler live a full life again.

We have had our 11 yr. old German Shepherd cross on Previcox for about 6 months but found that a cost of $4.00 each to be extremely expensive even though he only needs 1/2 a tablet per day. I found ,ordered & received a delivery from U.S.A.for half that price but now need to order more.Unfortunately that website ordering service is no longer advertising.Where can I buy from in Australia without a prescription?
